Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria

Promoting, protecting and representing general aviation in Nigeria

AOPA Nigeria is the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria. Nigeria is Africa's most populous country and one of its largest economies, and its general aviation needs a strong, informed voice. That is what we are.

We represent pilots, aircraft owners, student pilots, instructors, engineers, flying clubs and flight training businesses. We work with the national authorities for sensible regulation, and for the airports, airspace, weather and fuel that general aviation needs.

On October 7, 2019, the International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations (IAOPA) formally acknowledged the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria (AOPA Nigeria) as the organization representing Nigerian general aviation within the global IAOPA network. In the memorandum issued on that date, IAOPA President Mark Baker noted that IAOPA Headquarters “has received an application for membership from the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association of Nigeria (AOPA‑Nigeria)” and that the Secretary General confirmed the association met all constitutional and bylaw requirements.
